THE WELCOME CENTERExteriorThe Welcome Center is, essentially, a moderately-sized, two-story office building in Misery Square. Its cheerful blue sign can be seen from the fountain. The front is thoroughly unremarkable—worn brick, a creaky wooden door on the left-hand side, and a picture window on the right. The Center is surrounded on both sides by similar buildings with a good seven feet between them.
Office and KitchenetteThe Center's main room is the first thing one sees upon entering. The carpet is a warm cream color, if a bit worn; the walls are a sky-blue. The front picture window and three smaller windows provide ample natural light during the day and floor lamps illuminate the room with indirect light by night. There is a kitchenette adjacent to the door, separated from the rest of the room by a counter. The kitchenette is tiled and contains a stove/oven, a sink, a small fridge, and a microwave. The fridge is always remarkably well-stocked for how small it is—its contents varying according to the tastes of those staying at the Center—and there are virtually always cookies or other goodies up for grabs on the counter.
Euphie added a small desk with an office chair facing the entrance door. There are typical office supplies accessible to anyone as well as a locked drawer she retains the key to that contains a small amount of official papers including agreements with other businesses, leasing information, bills, etc. Euphie kept this area very tidy, but Penny isn't quite so... ah, organized.
Living RoomTo the right of this is what might be considered the living room. Two tables, two sofas, two comfy armchairs, and a number of other chairs fill this area nicely, and a colorful rug covers a large part of the floor. The furniture is all either donated or second-hand and, as a result, none of it matches. While managing the Centers, Euphie replaced some items and furniture with nicer things. She also added a chessboard.) The exact configuration of the furniture varies, as anyone is welcome to move it as they please provided the other rooms aren't obstructed. In spite of the rag-tag furnishings, the front room has a cozy, homey feel to it and is kept clean.
Storage ClosetThere is a rather large storage closet directly behind the kitchenette. It serves as a pantry, linen closet, and catch-all storage compartment. This is where nonperishable food items, extra blankets, and racks of clothes (sorted now and not in boxes!) for new arrivals who might find themselves inappropriately dressed can be found.
There are also plenty of towels for guests coming from the fountain.Medical BayThere wasn't a lot of room for privacy, but the nook beyond the dining room table and before the bathrooms and bedroom can now be partitioned off with curtains. These can also be tied back while no one is there. There is a cabinet with supplies and a cot and stool that are stored in the storage room when not in use. Sakura ran this space. Her healing abilities were based on her ninja powers. There was no surgery or anything extensive in this space, but it can continue to serve anyone coming to the city with basic cuts, bumps, and bruises. Until or unless they have another healer it will be reduced to over-the-counter type supplies anyone can use.BathroomThe bathroom is in the far right corner of the Center. Its walls are cream and its simple fixtures—a shower/bath, a toilet, and a sink—are all white. Cheery little paintings of highly abstracted flowers brighten the walls up a bit and a purple bathroom rug warms up the small space.
BedroomThe final room is the bedroom. This is where City dwellers who, for some reason or another find themselves misplaced, are invited to stay until they can find someplace permanent to live. The three beds are twin-sized; each has a nightstand, and privacy curtains afford guests some amount of privacy. There's a dresser in the room that's open to everyone. The walls are a slightly subdued emerald green (slightly) and three windows provide ample natural lighting.
Misc.Additional fixtures in the Center include a
bulletin board on which everyone in the City is welcome to place ads, events, or offers of employment and two plants in the front room.

THE YOUTH CENTER
ExteriorThe Youth Center, conveniently located not so far from the Welcome Center, is far statelier than its partner-center. It looks more like a house than anything remotely business like with its generous front lawn and a well-maintained basketball court.
Lobby
There is a desk located in the foyer that one sees immediately upon entering the building. In theory, this desk will be manned by a friendly volunteer who will be more than happy to lead visitors to an available room.
Ground Floor
The first level of the Youth Center features two gaming rooms (both outfitted with the best entertainment donations can buy) that are open to residents and visitors alike, three classrooms, and a lovely kitchen. Meals will be served in the kitchen three times a day, but don't be afraid to raid the fridge for leftovers!
Bedrooms
There are nine fully-furnished bedrooms on the second floor. They're relatively simple rooms; some feature bunk beds, others are meant for one occupant alone. Best of all, these rooms are private. They are, however, reserved for those who aren't prepared to live on their own and are intended to serve, if needed, as a permanent residence. Well-adjusted adults will have to make do with the curtain dividers at the Welcome Center.
